Does Acupuncture Really Work?
Yes! In the past 2000 years, more people have been successfully treated with acupuncture than with all other health modalities combined. Today, acupuncture is practiced all over the world, throughout Asia, Japan, the Soviet Union, and in Europe. With national healthcare in England and Germany acupuncture is part of the mainstream medicine and is a first-line treatment for many conditions. In the United States and Canada it is becoming more accepted by patients and physicians and is quickly becoming the first-line treatment for several conditions.
Insurance companies have been slower to accept acupuncture as an option. A few companies have started reimbursing for treatments. Patients should check if their particular plan does cover acupuncture services.
I have seen Dr. A. and have been told that since I'm improving steadily, he does not recommend surgery at this time. He has me continuing Mobic and doing strength training in PT. I am SO much better that it almost scares me! I have slight burning and weakness to my left leg. No pain. I am doing most of what I was able to do before the trauma."
